إنما الأعمال بالنيات، وإنما لكل امرئ ما نوى
When a man loves his brother, he should tell him that he loves him
إن الحلال بين، وإن الحرام بين
The major sins are associating partners with Allah, undutifulness to parents, murder, and intentional false oath
إن الله طيب لا يقبل إلا طيبا، وإن الله أمر المؤمنين بما أمر به المرسلين
Do not turn your houses like graves, and do not take my grave a place for celebration, and invoke (Allah's) blessings upon me, for your invoking of Allah's blessings upon me will reach me wherever you may be
لا يؤمن أحدكم، حتى يحب لأخيه ما يحب لنفسه
Whoever gives me a guarantee to safeguard what is between his jaws and what is between his legs, I will guarantee him Paradise
إن الله كتب الإحسان على كل شيء
The best dhikr is lā ilāha illa Allah (there is no god but Allah), and the best supplication is Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah)
إن مما أدرك الناس من كلام النبوة الأولى: إذا لم تستحي فاصنع ما شئت
Paradise is nearer to one of you than his shoelaces, and so is Hellfire
قل لي في الإسلام قولا لا أسأل عنه أحدا غيرك، قال: قل: آمنت بالله، ثم استقم
No fatigue, disease, sorrow, sadness, harm, or distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were a prick of a thorn, but Allah will expiate some of his sins thereby
الطهور شطر الإيمان، والحمد لله تملأ الميزان، وسبحان الله والحمد لله تملآن أو تملأ ما بين السماء والأرض
Hellfire is surrounded by lusts, and Paradise is surrounded by adversities
لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى يكون هواه تبعا لما جئت به
May Allah have mercy on a man who is lenient when he sells, when he buys, and when he asks for repayment of the debt
أربع من كن فيه كان منافقا، وإن كانت خصلة منهن فيه كانت فيه خصلة من النفاق حتى يدعها: من إذا حدث كذب، وإذا وعد أخلف، وإذا خاصم فجر، وإذا عاهد غدر
There was a man who used to give loans to people. He would say to his servant: ‘When you come to an insolvent person, overlook his debt; perhaps Allah would overlook our sins.’
أربع من كن فيه كان منافقا، وإن كانت خصلة منهن فيه كانت فيه خصلة من النفاق حتى يدعها: من إذا حدث كذب، وإذا وعد أخلف، وإذا خاصم فجر، وإذا عاهد غدر

Loginلو أنكم كنتم توكلون على الله حق توكله لرزقكم كما يرزق الطير تغدو خماصا وتروح بطانا
Fear Allah wherever you are; follow a bad deed with a good deed and it will erase it; and treat people with good morals
البر: حسن الخلق، والإثم ما حاك في صدرك، وكرهت أن يطلع عليه الناس
Indeed, Allah does not look at your appearance and wealth, but He looks at your hearts and deeds.”
لا يزال لسانك رطبا من ذكر الله
Verily, the reward of deeds depends on the intentions, and each person will be rewarded according to what he intended
ألا أنبئكم بأكبر الكبائر؟
If only you rely upon Allah the way you should, He will provide for you as He provides for birds: They set out hungry in the morning and return with full bellies in the evening
إذا أحب الرجل أخاه فليخبره أنه يحبه
He who is deprived of gentleness is deprived of goodness
الكبائر: الإشراك بالله، وعقوق الوالدين، وقتل النفس، واليمين الغموس
Do you know what backbiting is?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "It is to say of your brother what he dislikes
الساعي على الأرملة والمسكين، كالمجاهد في سبيل الله، أو القائم الليل الصائم النهار
Beware of false thought, for false thought is the most untruth speech
اجتنبوا السبع الموبقات
All human beings are sinners, and the best of the sinners are the frequent repenters
أنا أغنى الشركاء عن الشرك، من عمل عملا أشرك فيه معي غيري تركته وشركه
Every act of goodness is charity
لا تجعلوا بيوتكم قبورا، ولا تجعلوا قبري عيدا، وصلوا علي؛ فإن صلاتكم تبلغني حيث كنتم
The strong man is not the one who can overpower others; rather, the strong man is the one who controls himself when he is angry
أدخله الله الجنة على ما كان من العمل
Whoever guides to a good deed will get the same reward as the doer of that deed
من لقي الله لا يشرك به شيئا دخل الجنة، ومن لقيه يشرك به دخل النار
The nearest a slave to his Lord is while he is prostrating, so increase supplication
من يضمن لي ما بين لحييه وما بين رجليه أضمن له الجنة
Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should say what is good or keep silent
أفضل الذكر: لا إله إلا الله، وأفضل الدعاء: الحمد لله
Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah Almighty does not show mercy to him
الجنة أقرب إلى أحدكم من شراك نعله، والنار مثل ذلك
The most beloved speech to Allah are four: subhān Allah (glory be Allah), al-hamdulillāh (praise be to Allah), la ilāha illa Allah (there is no god but Allah), and Allāhu akbar (Allah is the Most Great), and it does not matter which one of them you start with
الجنة أقرب إلى أحدكم من شراك نعله، والنار مثل ذلك

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the foremost deed that leads people to Paradise, and he replied: "Fear of Allah and good character
ما يصيب المسلم من نصب ولا وصب ولا هم ولا حزن ولا أذى ولا غم حتى الشوكة يشاكها إلا كفر الله بها من خطاياه
Modesty is part of faith
حجبت النار بالشهوات، وحجبت الجنة بالمكاره
There are two words that are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, and dear to the Most Merciful
حق المسلم على المسلم خمس: رد السلام، وعيادة المريض، واتباع الجنائز، وإجابة الدعوة، وتشميت العاطس
Nothing is more honorable in the sight of Allah Almighty than supplication
رحم الله رجلا سمحا إذا باع، وإذا اشترى، وإذا اقتضى
Whoever protects the honor of his brother in his absence, Allah will protect his face from the Fire on the Day of Judgment
كان رجل يداين الناس، فكان يقول لفتاه: إذا أتيت معسرا فتجاوز عنه، لعل الله يتجاوز عنا
Whoever says ‘subhān Allah wa bihamdih (glory be to Allah, and praise be to Him)’ one hundred times a day, his sins will be erased, even if they were as much as the foam of the sea
من خَرج في طلب العلم فهو في سَبِيلِ الله حتى يرجع
When Allah intends good for someone, He grants him the understanding of the religion
إذا التقى المسلمان بسيفيهما فالقاتل والمقتول في النار
Verily, Allah loves the servant who is pious, free of wants, and inconspicuous
إن الحلال بين وإن الحرام بين
The most perfect believer in terms of his faith is the one who has the most excellent manners, and the best of you are those who are best to their womenfolk
إن الله كتب الإحسان على كل شيء
Verily, lenience is not found in anything but it adorns it, and it is not removed from anything but it makes it defective
إن الله لا ينظر إلى صوركم وأموالكم، ولكن ينظر إلى قلوبكم وأعمالكم
Allah is pleased with one who eats some food and praises Him for it, or drinks some drink and praises Him for it
إنما الأعمال بالنيات، وإنما لكل امرئ ما نوى
Verily, a believer can attain, by his good manners, the rank of one who fasts and prays often
لا تغضب
Make matters easy and do not make them difficult, and give people glad tidings and do not drive them away
لو أنكم تتوكلون على الله حق توكله، لرزقكم كما يرزق الطير، تغدو خماصا وتروح بطانا
None of you truly believes until I become dearer to him than his father, his children, and all people
أذنب عبد ذنبا، فقال: اللهم اغفر لي ذنبي
Whoever recites the last two verses of Sūrat al-Baqarah at a night, they will suffice him
إن المقسطين عند الله على منابر من نور، عن يمين الرحمن عز وجل، وكلتا يديه يمين
Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will be credited with a good deed for it, and a good deed is multiplied tenfold
من يحرم الرفق يحرم الخير
Whoever is attached to something will be entrusted to that thing
أتدرون ما الغيبة؟، قالوا: الله ورسوله أعلم، قال: ذكرك أخاك بما يكره
Those who are merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to the inhabitants of earth and the One in the heaven will be merciful to you
إن رجالا يتخوضون في مال الله بغير حق، فلهم النار يوم القيامة
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade qaza‘ (shaving part of one's head and leaving other parts unshaven)
إياكم والظن؛ فإن الظن أكذب الحديث
O boy, mention Allah's name, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is nearer to you
كل بني آدم خطاء، وخير الخطائين التوابون
Show reverence to Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) by honoring his family members.
كل معروف صدقة
Life in this world is sweet and green, and indeed, Allah has made you successors there to see how you will behave. So, be cautious of this world and be cautious of women
لا تحقرن من المعروف شيئا، ولو أن تلقى أخاك بوجه طلق
Modesty brings nothing but good
ليس الشديد بالصرعة، إنما الشديد الذي يملك نفسه عند الغضب
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would often say: "O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion
من دل على خير فله مثل أجر فاعله
Allah, the Exalted, says: "My reward shall be nothing less than Paradise for My faithful servant who, if I take the life of his beloved one from the inhabitants of the world, he bears it patiently in expectation of My reward."
لا تسبوا الأموات، فإنهم قد أفضوا إلى ما قدموا
Do not supplicate against yourselves, do not supplicate against your children, and do not supplicate against your property, lest you do it at a time in which Allah answers all supplications so you will be granted what you asked for
لا يحل لرجل أن يهجر أخاه فوق ثلاث ليال، يلتقيان، فيعرض هذا ويعرض هذا، وخيرهما الذي يبدأ بالسلام
Your supplication is answered as long as one of you is not in haste, saying: I have supplicated to my Lord, but He has not yet answered me
لا يدخل الجنة قاطع رحم
The nearest the Lord to a servant is in the course of the last part of the night
لا يدخل الجنة قتات
The best dinar a man spends is a dinar that he spends on his dependents, and a dinar that a man spends on his mount in the cause of Allah, and a dinar that he spends on his companions in the cause of Allah
من أحب أن يبسط له في رزقه، وينسأ له في أثره، فليصل رحمه
How astonishing the believer's affair is! Indeed, all of his affairs are good, and this is for none but the believer
أقرب ما يكون العبد من ربه وهو ساجد، فأكثروا الدعاء
Do not take my grave as a place of festivity (which you visit repeatedly), and do not take your houses as graves. Send blessings upon me, for your greeting will reach me no matter where you are
من كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليقل خيرا أو ليصمت
When you put on clothes and when you perform ablution, you should begin with your right side
من لا يرحم الناس لا يرحمه الله عز وجل
Whoever provides for two girls until they reach puberty, he will come on the Day of Judgment, me and him," and he joined his fingers
إن أبغض الرجال إلى الله الألد الخصم
Which deed is dearest to Allah? He said: "Offering prayer at its earliest appointed time." I said: Then, what comes next? He said: "Dutifulness to one's parents." I said: Then, what comes next? He said: "Jihad in the way of Allah
أحب الكلام إلى الله أربع: سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، لا يضرك بأيهن بدأت
Who is that who swears that I will not forgive so-and-so? Indeed, I have forgiven him and rendered worthless your deeds
سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن أكثر ما يدخل الناس الجنة، فقال: تقوى الله وحسن الخلق
No soul gets killed wrongfully without the first son of Adam taking guilt for its blood because he was the first to institute the practice of murder
الحياء من الإيمان
One may utter a word thoughtlessly and, as a result of this, he will fall down into Hellfire for a distance greater than the distance between the east and the west
الدعاء هو العبادة
Whoever says (upon leaving his house) "In the name of Allah; I rely on Allah; there is no might and no power save in Allah", it will be said to him: "You are guided, sufficed, and protected", and the devil will go far away from him
عليكم بالصدق، فإن الصدق يهدي إلى البر، وإن البر يهدي إلى الجنة
When anyone of you meets his brother, let him greet him with peace. If a tree, a wall, or a rock comes between them and then he meets him, let him greet him with peace again.
كلمتان خفيفتان على اللسان، ثقيلتان في الميزان، حبيبتان إلى الرحمن
I said: O Messenger of Allah, what is salvation? He said: "Control your tongue, abide in your house, and weep over your sin
ليس شيء أكرم على الله تعالى من الدعاء
I am as My slave thinks of Me and I am with him when he remembers Me
من رد عن عرض أخيه رد الله عن وجهه النار يوم القيامة
Were this world worth a wing of a mosquito in the sight of Allah, He would not have given the disbeliever a drink of water thereof
من قال: سبحان الله وبحمده، في يوم مائة مرة، حطت خطاياه وإن كانت مثل زبد البحر
May his nose be rubbed in dust, then may his nose be rubbed in dust, and may his nose be rubbed in dust." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, who? He said: "The one whose parents, one of them or both, reach old age in his life yet he does not enter Paradise
من قال: سبحان الله وبحمده، في يوم مائة مرة، حطت خطاياه وإن كانت مثل زبد البحر
May his nose be rubbed in dust, then may his nose be rubbed in dust, and may his nose be rubbed in dust." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, who? He said: "The one whose parents, one of them or both, reach old age in his life yet he does not enter Paradise
Loginمن قال: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير، عشر مرار
Al-Mufarridūn have gone far ahead
من يرد الله به خيرا يفقهه في الدين
Every Ummah has a trial, and the trial of my Ummah is wealth
إن الله يحب العبد التقي الغني الخفي
All of my Ummah may be forgiven except those who commit sin openly
أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان لا يرد الطيب
No slave covers another slave in this world except that Allah would cover him on the Day of Judgment
أكمل المؤمنين إيمانا أحسنهم خلقا، وخيركم خيركم لنسائهم
Let none of you die except while having good expectations of Allah
إن الرفق لا يكون في شيء إلا زانه، ولا ينزع من شيء إلا شانه
All that is left from Prophet-hood is the glad tidings
إن الله ليرضى عن العبد أن يأكل الأكلة فيحمده عليها، أو يشرب الشربة فيحمده عليها
This world in comparison with the Hereafter is like the amount of water one of you gets when he dips his finger in the sea. Let him see what his finger returns with
إن المؤمن ليدرك بحسن خلقه درجة الصائم القائم
The example of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember His Lord is like the example of the living and the dead person
إن من خياركم أحسنكم أخلاقا
Verily, among the things I fear the most for you after me is the splendor and adornment of this worldly life when they become plentifully available to you
إن الله ليملي للظالم، حتى إذا أخذه لم يفلته
O Messenger of Allah, who is the most entitled among people to my good companionship? He said: Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, and then those who are the closest to you
ما تركت بعدي فتنة أضر على الرجال من النساء
Whoever has seen me in a dream will see me when he is awake – or it is as if he has seen me while he is awake; the devil does not take my shape
يسروا ولا تعسروا، وبشروا ولا تنفروا
The dead person is followed by three: His family, his wealth and his deeds. Then two of them come back: His family and his wealth, and there remain only his deeds
من نزل منزلا ثم قال: أعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق، لم يضره شيء حتى يرتحل من منزله ذلك
The one who is riding should greet the one walking, the one who is walking should greet the one sitting, and the small group of people should greet the large one
لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه من والده وولده والناس أجمعين
Allah, Blessed and Exalted, accepts the slave's repentance as long as the death rattle has not yet reached his throat
لأن أقول: سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، أحب إلي مما طلعت عليه الشمس
Verily, Allah Almighty extends His Hand during the night so the sinner of the day may repent, and He extends His Hand during the day so the sinner of the night may repent until the sun rises from its west
لأن أقول: سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، أحب إلي مما طلعت عليه الشمس
Verily, Allah Almighty extends His Hand during the night so the sinner of the day may repent, and He extends His Hand during the day so the sinner of the night may repent until the sun rises from its west
Loginمن قرأ بالآيتين من آخر سورة البقرة في ليلة كفتاه
A man asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about fasting while traveling. He answered: If you wish then fast, and if you wish then do not fast
من قرأ حرفا من كتاب الله فله به حسنة، والحسنة بعشر أمثالها
Verily, some of what reached people from the speech of the early prophets: If you feel no shame, then do whatever you wish
من تعلق شيئا وُكل إليه
Be in this world as if you are a stranger or a wayfarer
الراحمون يرحمهم الرحمن، ارحموا أهل الأرض يرحمكم من في السماء
Keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن القزع
None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself
كنا عند عمر فقال: نهينا عن التكلف
Whoever repents before the sun rises from the west, Allah will accept his repentance
ما من أحد يشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا رسول الله صدقا من قلبه إلا حرمه الله على النار
Shall I not inform of whom Hellfire is forbidden for? Or he is forbidden for Hellfire? It is forbidden for someone who is accessible, lenient, tender, and easy to get along with
يا غلام، سم الله، وكل بيمينك، وكل مما يليك
Injustice will be excessive darkness on the Day of Judgment
إذا أكل أحدكم فليأكل بيمينه، وإذا شرب فليشرب بيمينه، فإن الشيطان يأكل بشماله، ويشرب بشماله
Whoever listens to the talk of some people while they dislike that, molten lead shall be poured into his ears on the Day of Judgment
الطهور شطر الإيمان، والحمد لله تملأ الميزان، وسبحان الله والحمد لله تملآن أو تملأ ما بين السماوات والأرض
Shall I inform you about the most beloved words by Allah? They are: Glory belongs to Allah and praise is due to Him
ينزل ربنا تبارك وتعالى كل ليلة إلى السماء الدنيا حين يبقى ثلث الليل الآخر
The miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned, but he does not invoke Allah's blessings upon me
يُوشِكُ الأممُ أن تَدَاعى عليكم كما تداعى الأَكَلةُ إلى قصعتها
The one who is afraid (of the pillage of the enemy) sets out in the early part of the night, and the one who sets out early will reach his destination. Verily, the commodity of Allah is precious. Verily, the commodity of Allah is Paradise
يُوشِكُ الأممُ أن تَدَاعى عليكم كما تداعى الأَكَلةُ إلى قصعتها
The one who is afraid (of the pillage of the enemy) sets out in the early part of the night, and the one who sets out early will reach his destination. Verily, the commodity of Allah is precious. Verily, the commodity of Allah is Paradise
Loginفإن حق الله على العباد أن يعبدوه ولا يشركوا به شيئا، وحق العباد على الله أن لا يعذب من لا يشرك به شيئا
By the One in Whose hand my soul is, if you were not to commit sins, Allah would replace you with people who would commit sins and then seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, who would then forgive them
فإن حق الله على العباد أن يعبدوه ولا يشركوا به شيئا، وحق العباد على الله أن لا يعذب من لا يشرك به شيئا
By the One in Whose hand my soul is, if you were not to commit sins, Allah would replace you with people who would commit sins and then seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, who would then forgive them
Loginمن مات لا يشرك بالله شيئا دخل الجنة، ومن مات يشرك بالله شيئا دخل النار
O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you
من مات لا يشرك بالله شيئا دخل الجنة، ومن مات يشرك بالله شيئا دخل النار
O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you
Loginقل لي في الإسلام قولا لا أسأل عنه أحدا غيرك، قال: قل: آمنت بالله، ثم استقم
Supplication between the Adhān (call to prayer) and the Iqāmah (second call to prayer) is not rejected
إن الله سيخلص رجلا من أمتي على رءوس الخلائق يوم القيامة
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the removal of Your favor, the change of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your calamity, and all of Your wrath
لما خلق الله الجنة والنار أرسل جبريل عليه السلام
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the dominance of debt, the dominance of the enemy, and the gloat of the enemies
